
John J. Mulcahy, of Dingmans Ferry, PA (formerly of Greenwood Lake, NY) , passed away on April 12, 2014 at Westchester Medical Center. He was 73 years old.
Born on June 30, 1940 in County Cork, Ireland, he was the son of the late Dennis and Helen (Moriarty) Mulcahy.
He was married to the late Anna T. (Culligan) Mulcahy.
John served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post #139 in Milford, PA. He was a Diesel Mechanic with NYC Transit Authority in Bronx, NY and a member of the Transport Workers Union Local 100, NY. He was a former member of Holy Rosary RC Church in Greenwood Lake.
A family statement reads: “John was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend and had a caring heart for everyone.”
He is survived by his three children: John S. Mulcahy and his wife Deborah of Washingtonville, Ellen Mulcahy of Dingmans Ferry, PA, and Dennis Mulcahy of New Hampton; his five grandchildren: John J.Mulcahy, Kyle Mulcahy, Taylor Mulcahy, Brianna McLeod, and Christian Mulcahy; four brothers: Pat Mulcahy of Ireland, Dennis Mulcahy of Greenwood Lake, Tom Mulcahy of Greenwood Lake, and Mick Mulcahy of Ireland, and a sister, Mary McAuliffe of Ireland.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 15th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at Holy Rosary Church, Greenwood Lake, followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
