Kenneth Henry Grosskreuz

of Highland Lakes, NJ (formerly of Brooklyn, NY) passed away on February 12, 2010 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Sussex.  He was 55 years old.

                                                   

Born on March 20, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of Doris Abel Grosskreuz and the late Henry M. Grosskreuz.

 

He was married to Janet (Peet) Grosskreuz.

 

An Electrician for 30 years, Kenneth was self-employed  with K & J Electric in Highland Lakes.  He was formerly employed with SEM in Warwick, NY.  An avid scuba diver, he was a former member of Country Scuba in Stockholm.  He also had a passion for cave diving, was a mountain biker and an alpine and nordic skier, loved to fish and loved dogs.  He was a member of the Diabetes Support Group of Barry Lakes.

 

He is survived by his wife, Janet Peet-Grosskreuz, of Highland Lakes; his mother, Doris Grosskreuz, of Queens, NY; two sisters:  Diane Smith and her husband Daniel of New Orleans, LA and Karen O’Connor and her husband Michael of Camarillo, CA;  an uncle, Frederick Grosskreuz and his wife Elizabeth of Saxton River, VT; a cousin, Richard Grosskreuz of Hopewell Junction, NY;  nieces and nephews; and beloved pets Kory, Tisa, Jasmine and Ruby Li.

 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 17th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY 10990.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 18th, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church,  307 Route 94, Vernon, NJ 07462.  Private cremation.
