Robert Leonard Polhamus, III, 33, passed away at his home in Chester, NY on June 6, 2016.
He was born in Danbury, Connecticut on April 23, 1983 to Robert Leonard Polhamus, Jr. and Shawn Leslie (nee Angeloro).
He graduated from Warwick Valley High School in 2001 and Binghamton University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Population and Organism Biology. He had a passion for cooking and had worked in the restaurant industry in New York, NY after college. He also had a love of local history and genealogy, and produced a documentary on soldiers from Middletown, NY, who served in World War I. He worked as a professional tutor for his own business, Orange County IQ.
He is survived by his parents; his sisters: Cynthia Eversole and her husband Michael Eversole, Amy Simmons and her husband Colin Simmons, Michele Polhamus and her fiancé Rodney Santiago, and Laura Polhamus; his brother, Christian Polhamus; four nieces and two nephews, and his paternal grandparents Robert Leonard Polhamus, Sr. and Helene Lois (nee McLeod).
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Monday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
