John J. Shortell of Warwick, NY formerly of Staten Island and Brooklyn, NY passed away on August 17, 2021. He was 71 years old. 

Born in Brooklyn, NY on April 15, 1950, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (nee Carey) Shortell

Prior to retirement, John was a patrolman for the New York City Police Department.

John is survived by his sister, Mary Zeedyk of Warwick, NY; brother, Tom Shortell of Garrison, NY; sister, Elizabeth Avicolli of Sarasota, FL; and many nieces and nephews: He was predeceased by his brother Michael Shortell (2005).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on August 24, 2021 at St. Stephen’s Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick.  Interment will follow in the Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, NY.
