Henry Hopper of Warwick, NY, passed away at Schervier Pavilion on November 11, 2020. He was 96 years old.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of Roman and Frances Chmielewski.
Henry served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He loved old movies from the thirties and forties and the silver screen stars from that period and spoke fondly of his time in Hollywood in the late forties and the stars he was able to meet. He was a fan of horse racing and baseball, especially “his” team the Tampa Bay Rays. In recent years he loved going to the Albert Wisner Library with a side trip to Halligans after! He valued his time with the family and especially enjoyed seeing everyone during the holidays.
Henry is survived by his son, Leonard Hopper and his wife, Cindy; grandchildren: Jennifer Hopper Rottenberg and her husband Ian, Thomas Hopper, Timothy Hopper, Anthony Redes, Michelle Lockwood and her husband Jeff, Charles D’oria and Vincent D’oria; and great-grandchildren: Teddy Rottenberg, Emily and Sean Lockwood, nephew, William Michaelis and his wife Renee and niece, Nancy Michaelis.
Private arrangements were made. A memorial service will be planned in the spring.
