Joseph Tutino, Jr. of Warwick, NY passed away on January 6, 2021 at St. Anthony Hospital after a brief illness. He was 70 years old.
Born in Valley Stream, NY, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Petracca) Tutino and brother of Maria Tutino, all of whom predeceased him.
Joe was a car enthusiast who loved to work on hot rods and go for long drives with his friend Bill. He was past president of the Tri-County Car Club for a time, then decided to be called the “lone wolf” with no club affiliation. He always enjoyed the camaraderie of the people he met and became friends when attending the shows.
Joe also enjoyed operating HAM radios and belonged to the Virginia Amateur Radio Club. Early on he was also a photographer for the Journal Messenger where he took pictures at the Maryland football games. Joe put his heart and soul into whatever he enjoyed. He enjoyed boating with his cousins and being part of the family holidays and events.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 15, 2021 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16 at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, with burial following the mass in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Joe would have liked donations to go to Catholic Charities of NY Office of Development, 11th Floor, 1011 First Avenue, New York, NY 10022 or the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
