Helen M. Masker

of Middletown (formerly of Pine Island), died on March 3, 2008 at home.  She was 90 years old.

 

Born on December 6, 1917 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Catherine Langlitz Mohr.

 

She was married for 62 years to the late Joseph B. Masker(1997).

 

Mrs. Masker was a self employed dairy farmer in Amity and was a member of St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pine Island, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid.  She was a former member of the Shining Light Rebekah Lodge, a former District Deputy President and a former District Deputy Marshal.  She was also a member of AARP.

 

She was the mother of Jeannine Conner of South Dakota and the late Kathleen Niski and Eugene C. Masker, Sr. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren: Rhonda Niski, Joseph B. Masker, II, Eugene C. Masker, Jr., Jean Marie Poppinga, Jeannine Gruber, Darlene Conner, Penny Jo Langer and Tammy Nelson; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 6th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday at the funeral home.  Private cremation.
