Wilbur T. Green, Jr., a lifelong resident of Warwick, passed away on February 18, 2013 at St. Anthony’s Community Hospital. He was 72 years old.
Born on July 5, 1940 in the New Milford section of Warwick, he was the son of the late Wilbur T. and Leonora (Weymer) Green.
He was married to Barbara J. (Wallace) Green.
Mr. Green worked at Jones Chemical Company in Warwick for 20 years, and then worked for 15 years with the Warwick Department of Public Works, and was a member of Local 445 Teamsters. He was a member of Raymond Hose Fire Company in Warwick, where he served as a past Captain. A member of the NRA, he loved to deer hunt and fish, and he enjoyed bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Green of Warwick; a daughter, Kelly Ramirez and her husband Joe of Kimberly, Idaho; a son, Wilbur T. Green III (Skip) of Warwick; four grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Adrianna, Emily and Mackenzie; a sister, Prudence Schlagel of Warwick; a brother, George R. Green of Middletown.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 22nd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
