, of Warwick (formerly of Greenpoint, Brooklyn), passed away on May 11, 2009 at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He was 61 years old.
Born on February 13, 1948 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Stanley and Grace (Troeller) Ligarzewski.
He was married to Barbara (nee Turczyn).
Mr. Ligarzewski was a Sheet Metal Journeyman with Sheet Metal Local 28, NYC and was a former manager with Little League Baseball in Warwick.
A family statement reads: “He was a loving husband and great father, and the kid’s favorite uncle – he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.”
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Warwick; his sons: Robert and his wife Michele of Myrtle Beach, SC, Brian and his wife Kim of Hackettstown, NJ, and Michael and his girlfriend, Angela of Murrells Inlet, SC; two grandchildren: Emily and Noah; his brothers and sisters: Dorothy Colella, of Lynbrook, NY, Joan McTague of Lynbrook, NY, William Ligarzewski of Long Beach, Long Island, Richard Ligarzewski of Bay Shore, Long Island, and Joyce Selitti of East Rockaway; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 14th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Friday at St. Stephens RC Church. Private cremation.
