Ellinor M. Salvato

Ellinor M. Salvato, a longtime Warwick resident, passed away on June 6, 2015 at St. Anthony Community Hospital.  She was 78 years old. 

Born on March 30, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice (Olsen) Hellstrom. 

She was married to Arthur Joseph Salvato for 56 years.

Prior to her marriage to Arthur, she worked for the Navy Ship Yard in Brooklyn. She also worked  for Warwick Attorneys, Beatty and Krahulik. Ellinor retired in 1995 from the Support Collection Department of Orange County Department of Social Services in Goshen.

 A family statement reads "Ellinor loved the holidays and enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, rides in the country with Artie, and often spoke of her Norwegian ancestry. Ellinor will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew her.”

She is survived by her husband, Arthur of Warwick;  her children:  John A. Salvato and his wife Trish of Westtown, Steven Salvato and his wife Kathie of Warwick, Lisa McQuade and her husband Gerard of Monroe, and Michael Salvato and his wife Laurie of Monroe; nine grandchildren:  Justin, Ryan, Samantha, Christopher, Daniel, Rachel, Maria, Laura and Olivia; two great-grandchildren:  Eva and Ellieanne; and four foster grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters:  Alice Boyle of Warwick, Linda Liebler of Middletown and Solveig Hellstrom of Warwick. 

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 10th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 95 Kings Highway, Warwick.  Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
