Dora S. Myers

of Warwick (formerly Port Richie, FL), passed away on July 22, 2009 at Schervier Pavilion.  She was 93 years old.

 

Born on December 14, 1915 in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Marcus and Amelia (Niesel) Simmons.

 

She was married to the late John W. Myers (1992).

 

Mrs. Myers was formerly employed with Mechanical Rubber and Georgia Pacific in Warwick.  She was a member of the Warwick Reformed Church and a former member of the Hudson Reformed Church, Hudson, Florida.

 

A family statement reads “Our Father in heaven will take care of our mother:  She gave her life to her husband Johnny for over 50 years, she was a Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Great Aunt and Friend.  She is loved for gentleness, kindness, caring, always inspiring with her quiet strength when she did not have material gifts, she gave LOVE.  No one who ever meet her could not like her.  She is loved! Thank you God for giving her to us, she is with You.”

 

She is survived by her daughters:  Sharon Black of Warwick and Sandra Roberts of Bedford, TX; four grandchildren:  James Black III, Thomas M. Black, Michael Cannon and Brian Cannon; four great-grandchildren:  Josie M. Black, Austin Cannon, Tyler Black and Ailey Black; a brother, Jack Simmons in PA.  She was predeceased by sisters: Helen Nicholas and Emma Dutcher; brothers: William Simmons and Marcus Simmons.
