of Warwick (formerly of Glen Rock, NJ) passed on Friday, November 9, 2007. She was 87 years old.
She was born in Bayonne, NJ and grew up in Cranford, NJ,the daughter of the late Charles S. and Lydia H. Hatton Barnes.
She was married to the late Allan Rigg, Civil Engineer and Surveyor (1996). They made their homes in Glen Rock, NJ Lafayette, NJ and Warwick, NY
Mrs. Rigg was a graduate of Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. She was an artist, homemaker and Antique doll collector. During WWII she was in the first draftswoman’s class offered at Wright Aeronautical Company in Paterson, NJ. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Order of the Eastern Star and the Tri-State Doll Club. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Warwick where she volunteered in the Thrift Shop. She was also a long time member of Alpha Club at All Saints Episcopal Church, Glen Rock, NJ
She is survived by her children: Allan B. Rigg and his wife Lucy of Lake Hopatcong, NJ, Charles Rigg and his wife Nancy Snudden of Roslindale, MA, Bruce Rigg and his wife JoAnne of Glen Rock, NJ, Tuney MJ Mason Leshinski and her husband Jim of Warwick, Kent Rigg and his wife Diana of Midland Park, NJ, and Alison Wright and her husband Tom of Las Cruces, NM; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and her cat Meowee. She was predeceased by a sister Virginia Shapter.
Mrs. Rigg was a kind, gentle woman. Her family thanks all who shared their friendship and love with her, and especially her caregiver Sandy
Visitation will be on Monday November 12, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home 17 Oakland Ave. Warwick, NY. Funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10:30 am at Christ Episcopal Church Warwick, NY. Interment will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, New Jersey.
