of Warwick (formerly of Ringwood, NJ and Mahwah, NJ) passed away on January 5, 2010 at his home. He was 71 years old.

Born on August 28, 1938 in Ringwood, NJ, he was the son of the late Victor and Edith (Van Dunk) Milligan.

He was married to Lois (De Freese) Milligan.

Mr. Milligan was an Equipment Operator with the Town of Ringwood, retiring in 1990.  He was a big fan of the lottery.

A family statement reads:  “A happy and caring person, he will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.”

He is survived by his wife, Lois of Warwick; his children:  Tuewana De Groat and her husband Leo of Warwick, Frederick Milligan and his wife Patricia of West Milford, NJ, Jacqueline Milligan of Liberty, NY and her fiancé Melvin Spencer, Belinda De Groat and her husband Lance of Warwick, Jeremy Milligan of Warwick and his fiancé Tracey Van Dunk, and Travis Milligan of Warwick; his grandchildren:  Brett De Groat, Seth De Groat, Gina Milligan, Frederick Milligan, Colisha Milligan, Traci Morgan, Erin Milligan, Danielle Conklin, Ashley Conklin, Samuel Dennison, Angelica De Groat, Ian De Groat, Destiny De Groat, Natasha Milligan and D’Andre Milligan; three great-grandchildren:  Naomi Milligan, Kennedi Morgan and Mackenzie Keifer; two brothers:  Richard Milligan of Washingtonville and Darrell Milligan of Ringwood, NJ.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret in 2005 and a sister, Helene Mann in 2009.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, 2010, from 3:00-5:30 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, followed by a funeral service at 5:30 pm.  Private cremation
