of Warwick, passed away on August 20, 2010 at home. He was 87 years old.
Born on May 6, 1923 in Warwick, he was the son of the late Albert T. Hicks, Sr. and Ida Bartow Hicks.
He was married to the late Mildred Etta Hicks (2003).
Mr. Hicks served his country in the US Army during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He was a Custodian with St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Florida, NY and was a former Supervisor with the Chester Cable Company, Chester, NY for over 25 years.
A family statement reads: “A loving family man, Albert will truly be missed by all.”
He is survived by his daughters: Belinda Gayle and Valerie Gillian, both of Warwick; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by sons Anthony W. Hicks, Gordon J. Hicks, Bruce S. Powell and daughter Mary Louse Hicks, five sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 10:00 am-12:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
