Ruth E. Lucas, passed away on December 9, 2013 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 69 years old.
Born on July 27, 1944 in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of Arline (Nigerio) Pupello and the late Louis Pupello.
She was married to James Lucas for 47 years.
A long time Orange County resident, Ruth retired as a Customer Service Representative with Time Warner Cable in Middletown, and was working as a Lunch Duty Monitor at St. Stephen/St. Edwards School in Warwick
She was known as “Nanny” to her beloved grandchildren and “Aunt Bunny” to her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her husband, James Lucas of Warwick; her mother, Arline Pupello of Warwick; her children: James Lucas, Jr. of Warwick, Jennifer Lucas of Warwick, and Louis Neumar of Anaheim, CA; three grandchildren: Gavin Fryer, Ava Fryer and Sofia Fryer, all of Warwick. She is also survived by two sisters, Josephine Gibson of Campbell Hall and Geraldine Magnaldi of Montauk, NY, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 12th, from 2-4 & 7-p pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday at St. Stephens RC Church, followed by interment in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
