
Joseph Branley, Jr. of Warwick, NY and formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on September 6, 2016 in Largo, Florida. He was 83 years old.
Born on December 4, 1932 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nora (Walsh) Branley.
He was married to Jean (Jeffrey) Branley for 63 years..
Joseph served with the US Navy from 1952-56, during the Korean War as a Chief Petty Officer, and completed 36 years in the Navy reserve. He was a Maintenance Officer of Infrastructure Division with NYC Transit Authority before retiring. He was a Teacher at APEX Technical School and was a member of St Stephen RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his wife, Jean of Warwick; his children: Kevin Branley of Staten Island, Joseph Branley of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Stephen Branley and his wife Angela of Warwick, Lorraine Cleary and her husband Terence of Sugar Loaf and Veronica Verrelli of Largo, FL; and five beloved grandchildren: Connor, Alexandra, Jacob, Rachel and Matthew. He is also survived by a brother, Odran Branley of Brooklyn.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 16th from 6:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at St. Stephen RC Church, followed by interment in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, with military honors.
