Dorothy Lucy Anderson (nee Williams), of Warwick, passed away on December 22, 2010 at Schervier Pavilion, Warwick.  She was 100 years old.

 

She was born on February 11, 1910 in New Rochelle, New York.

 

She was married to the late Harold Anderson.

 

Dorothy was a self employed Interior Decorator in New York City,  She was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick, where she served on the Parish Council, St. Stephens Building Committee, was a member of the Altar Society, a member of the Choir, was a CCD teacher, a Sodality member, and a past Grand Regent of Catholic Daughters.  She volunteered at Mid Orange Correctional Facility in the Confirmation Preparation class, was honored as 2007 Senior Citizen of the Year in Orange County, was a volunteer at NYC Foundling Hospital, and was a member of the Orange County Democratic Club.

 

She is survived by the many people of Warwick who were honored and privileged to know her.

 

“Dorothy especially appreciated the priests and parish of the Church of Saint Stephen, the First Martyr, the Catholic Daughters, the Sodality, the Warwick Valley Gardeners, and the numerous organizations and committees that were a very important and active part of her life.”

 

Visitation will be on Monday, December 27, 2010 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick from.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at St. Stephens RC Church, followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
