Arthur Klingman

Arthur J. Klingman of Warwick (formerly of Howells, NY) entered into eternal rest on September 27, 2012.

 

Born on July 21, 1918 in New York City, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha Klingman.

He was married to Mildred Klingman

Arthur was a retired bus mechanic for Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority for many years.  He also was an avid camper and made many trips with Mildred for sometimes months at a time; he also volunteered for many years for Radio Vision reading for the blind.

 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Mildred, of Warwick; his children: Carol Buchanan and her husband Thomas of Warwick, Joseph Klingman and his wife Ellen of Hopewell, VA, and Barbara Pastor of New Windsor, NY.  Nine grandchildren Sara Scheuermann, Scott Buchanan, Susan Alicea, Mark and Jason Klingman, Mark,  Alex, Naomi and Allison Paster as well as seven great grandchildren

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 30th, from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at St. Stephens RC Church, cremation will follow privately.
