
John J. O’Neill, of Warwick (formerly of Suffern), passed away on November 10, 2016 at home. He was 84 years old.
Born on December 5, 1931 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Timothy Charles and Mary (Lacey) O’Neill.
He was married for 58 years to Josephine (Pat) Smyth O’Neill.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was retired as a Distribution Manager with Englewood Hospital, Englewood, NJ, where he worked for 20 years. He was former president of the Ramapo Little League, coached CYO basketball at Sacred Heart School in Suffern, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart parish, a member of the VFW, Joyce Kilmer Post in Suffern, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Goshen. He was a parishioner of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
A family statement reads: “John was a great humanitarian, helping countless people in need. His family meant everything to him and his life revolved around them.”
He is survived by his wife Pat O’Neill of Warwick; his children: Lisa Tiger and husband Scott of Warwick, Patricia Bauer and husband Matthew of Warwick, Tracy Gray and husband Kevin of Central Valley, John O’Neill and wife Tracy of Montgomery, and Tara Conmy and husband Dan of Norwood, NJ; thirteen grandchildren: Keriann LeLoup, Kaitlyn Mannino and husband Andy, Scott Tiger, Ryan Bauer, Patrick Bauer, Shannon Bauer, Brendan Bauer, Kevin Gray and wife Katie, Rilee O’Neill, Dylan O’Neill, Delanie O’Neill, Sean Conmy and Luke Conmy; and awaiting the birth of great-granddaughter, Mattigan Gray; numerous niece and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13th, from 3:00pm-8:00pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Rd., Warwick.(meet at church) Interment will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, with military honors.
