John J. Dutcher

John J. Dutcher, of Warwick, passed away on December 21, 2011 at the New York State Veterans Home at Montrose.  He was 87 years old.

 

Born on October 29, 1924 in West Paterson, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Andrew and Margaret (McClory) Dutcher.

 

He was married to the late Emma J. (Simmons) Dutcher.

 

Mr. Dutcher served with the US Army, 1st Calvary Division,  during World War II.  He worked with Beckwith Moving & Storage and also was a Milkman with Pioneer Farms.  He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.

 

He is survived by his children:  Steven Dutcher of Abington, MA, Gail Van Ness Sweeney of Warwick, Judy Van Ness Roosa of New Paltz, and James Dutcher of Los Angeles, CA;  seven grandchildren.  He is also survived by a sister, Jennifer Weir.  He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 27th, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Stephens RC Church, followed by interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, New Jersey.
