Katalin Zettl

of Warwick, NY, passed away on February 13, 2011 at Schervier Pavilion.  She was 92 years old.

 

Born on December 7, 1918 in Bajmok, Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Ilona Szakacs Ritscher.

 

She was the loving wife of Josef Zettl (1984).

 

She is survived by her daughter, Anna Rigo and her husband John of Warwick; her granddaughter, Aniko Neumann and her husband Carl of Naples, FL; five great-grandchildren:  Jennifer Neumann, Melissa Neumann Shipman and her husband Joshua, Kathryn Neumann Silva and her husband Matthew, Stefanie Neumann, and Kristen Neumann; six great-great-grandchildren:  Emma, Alexander, Connor, Isaiah, Liliana and Mason; a niece, Katalin Horvath; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ritscher of Marco Island, FL;  She was predeceased by a brother, Josef Ritscher.

 

Her family statement reads: “During her lifetime she resided in Yugoslavia, Hungary, Germany, and retained each language. She finally came to live with her daughter here in the United States.

 

Amami, as we called her, was happiest when surrounded by her family. She loved to cook and bake for us, and stitched sensational needlepoint pictures which decorate our homes and remind us daily of her love for us. Amami will be cherished in our memories forever”.

 

The family wishes to thank the staff at Schervier Pavilion and Dr. John Fiore for their tender loving care.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, February 18th, from 9:00-11:00am at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am.  Interment will be in Warwick Cemetery.
