of Clearwater, Florida (formerly of Warwick) passed away on October 12, 2009 in Florida. He was 85 years old.
Born on May 13, 1924 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Warren J. and Helen Sayer Keyes.
A veteran of World War II serving with the US Army Signal Corps in the Pacific from 1942-45, he received a Bachelors degree from Carnegie Tech and a Masters degree from Columbia University, NYC. He was a lifelong member and past president of the Daytona Beach Kiwanis, involved with Meals on Wheels, Clothes for Kids and Christmas Food Programs. He was known as “Mr. Baseball” and worked as the Business Manager for several major ball clubs in Class “A”. He will long be remembered as the Business Manager of the Daytona Beach Islanders.
He is survived by a brother, Jay Keyes of Clearwater Beach, FL; four nephews and a niece.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 17, at Warwick Cemetery.
