
Thomas J. Warren, Sr., of Warwick, passed away on December 26, 2016 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. He was 75 years old.
Born on March 27, 1941 in New York, NY, he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Gaffney) Warren.
He was married to Ellen (Devine) Warren.
Tom served with the US Army during the Vietnam era, serving with the 101st Airborne Division. . He was a retired Steamfitter with Local #638, NYC. A survivor of the 911 attack, he was there at the time of the attack and worked eight months during the cleanup operation. A very athletic person, he was a parachuter, a ski instructor at Mt Peter in Warwick, NY and Craigmeur in Newfoundland, NJ, a swimming and diving coach for CYO, and a scuba diver.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen of Warwick; his son, Michael Martin Warren and his wife Charlene of Warwick, his beloved grandson, Thomas Warren, who he cared for after his retirement. He was predeceased by a son, Thomas James Warren, Jr. in 2003.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 29th, and Friday, December 30th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
