of Warwick, passed away on February 13, 2010 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx. She was 89 years old.
Born on December 1, 1920 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Adolph and Bronislawa (Lapinska) Oleszczuk.
She was married to the late John P. Nemeksis.
Before retiring, Mrs. Nemeksis was a Secretary with A. & S., Long Island. She was a proud member of St. Stephens RC Church in Warwick, NY.
Nana, as she was called , loved to quilt, knit, crochet, and garden, but most of all to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her two daughters: Alice Langan and her husband Larry of Massapequa, Long Island and Janet Mullen and her husband Seamus of Warwick; a son, Robert Nemeksis of Meriden, CT; eight grandchildren: Lori Madison, Dan Langan, Christopher Langan, Katie King McDonough, James Mullen, Rebecca Mullen, Gavin Mullen and Joyce Nemeksis; two great-grandchildren: Dylan Madison and Devlynn King; her brothers & sisters: Paul Oleszczuk, Florence Clickett and Steve Oleszczuk. She was predeceased by three brothers: Frank Oleszczuk, Joseph Oleszczuk and Henry Oleszczuk.
Visitation will be on Sunday, February 14th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Monday, February 15th, at St. Stephens RC Church, followed by interment in St. Stephens Cemetery.
