Walter Catalano

passed away on February 6, 2009 at Horton Hospital, Middletown.  He was 73 years old.

 

Born on February 7, 1935 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Catalano.

 

He was married to the late Eleanor J. (McMahon) Catalano (2000).

 

An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division.

 

He was a New York City Police Officer of the 42 Precinct in the South Bronx and a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.

 

A family statement reads:  “Our loving father will live in our hearts forever and always. May God bless our father.  Goodnight, God bless you, we love you…a kiss to your heart.”

 

He is survived by his children:  Joseph Catalano of Tucson., AZ, Margaret Battipaglia and her husband Joseph of Middletown, Walter Catalano and his wife Corrina of Goshen, Martin Catalano and his wife Jennifer of Mt. Laurel, NJ, and Robert Catalano and his wife Heather of Morrisville, PA; his grandchildren:  Michael, Maria, Walter, Joan, Michelle, Emily, Jonathan, Soledad, Aidan, and Quinn; great-grandchildren: Christian, Isabelle and Amerie; a brother, Joseph Catalano of Canada; many nieces, nephews and friends.  He was predeceased by his twin brother, Charles, a sister, Virginia Catalano and brother, James Catalano.

 

Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 10th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Stephens RC Church.  Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
