
of Wayne, NJ, passed away on November 4, 2008 in Warwick, NY. He was 79 years old.
Born on May 22, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Edward Wienberg and Anne Lawrence and step-son of the late Edward Mac Williams.
He was the husband of Janet (Zumba) Mac Williams for 51 years.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a retired Systems Analyst with IBM, where he worked for 26 years. Previously, he worked for Union Carbide. An avid bowler, he bowled with IBM and many other leagues, having bowled a perfect game. He played semi-pro golf, loved sports, especially the Yankees and the Giants.
A family statement read “He was a well-read, intelligent and very patient man with a wonderful sense of humor.”
He is survived by his wife, Janet of Wayne, NJ; three daughters: Donna Meier and her husband Ken of Montgomery, NJ, Susan Paladino and her husband Marc of Hamburg, NJ, and Cindy Vander Plaat and her husband Roger of Warwick, NY; six grandchildren: Kelly, Steven, Kevin, Matthew, Jack and Skyler. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Eve Mac Williams of Atlanta, GA, the wife of his late brother, Dr. Peter Mac Williams.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 7th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. The funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Saturday at the funeral home, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
