
an eighth grade student at St. Stephen-St. Edward School in Warwick an avid student of dance at Kennett School of Dance in Goshen, passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2008. She was 13.
The daughter of Robert F. and Frances S. McManus and the sister of Robert A. McManus, Cassidy was born in Warwick New York on May 4, 1995. She was a life-long resident of Sugar Loaf, New York.
Along with her parents and brother, Cassidy is survived by her paternal grandfather, Robert G. McManus, M.D. of Warwick, her maternal grandparents, Thomas P. and Frances P. Sica of Chester; Aunts and Uncles; Margaret M. Nelson and her husband, John of Lake Bluff, IL, Kathleen P. Fenniman and her husband Douglas of Bronxville, NY, Cheryll A. Barrett and her husband William of Brewster, NY, Geraldine Dees and her husband Bruce of Simsbury, CT, Vincent P. Sica and his wife Kelly of South Windsor, CT., Thomas A. Sica and his wife Julie of Glenmont, NY , cousins; John , Andrew and Christopher Nelson of Lake Bluff, IL, Margaret and Grace Ann Fenniman of Bronxville, NY, William Barrett and his wife Emily of North Salem, NY, Catherine and Patricia Barrett of Brewster, NY, Megan and Hilary Dees of Simsbury, CT, Joseph, Sara and Alec Sica of South Windsor, CT, Thomas, Mary and John Sica of Glenmont, NY, and many friends. She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother, Margaret M. McManus.
Cassidy’s passion was dance. She spent countless hours working and perfecting her techniques. It could be said that she danced her way through life.
Cassidy loved and nurtured animals. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Warwick Humane Society and caring for her dogs, Ella and Lola and her cat Dexter.
One of Cassidy’s favorite joys was spending time with her cousins at the “beach house”. She loved the noise, love and chaos it provided.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
