Edward John Messina, a 34 year resident of Glenwood, NJ, went home to be with his Savior on March 15, 2016 at St. Anthony Hospital, Warwick, NY. He was 75.
Born on January 5, 1941 in Paterson, NJ, he was one of ten children of the late Salvatore and Mildred (Zisa) Messina.
Ed was self-employed as the owner of Eddie & Sons Gutter Cleaning Company. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Warwick, where he served as an usher.
“Eddie was a “character” and had a wonderful sense of humor. He was hard working and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and loved taking his family to the Jersey shore.”
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda (Asea) Messina; his children: Kimberly Derevlany of Culver City, CA, Crystal Messina of Buffalo, NY, Lance Messina of Glenwood, NJ, and Tiffany Messina of Glenwood, NJ; four grandchildren: Ava, Ian, Nicolas and Leonardo; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 17th, at Calvary Baptist Church, 5 Wisner Road, Warwick, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
