Regina M. Mooney, of Warwick, passed away on August 5, 2017, at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY with her loving family by her side. She was 83 years old.
Born on April 28, 1934, in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, she was the daughter of Michael and Helen Gribbon (nee Breslin), and the youngest of their six children. She was predeceased by her four brothers; Michael, John, Hugh, Joseph, and her sister Mary, all of whom she cherished greatly and loved deeply.
Regina was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, John Mooney (2007). She is survived by her three daughters: Mary Cassidy and her husband Kevin, Nancy Mooney, and Regina Breslin and her husband Tom; her beloved grandchildren: Thomas Sean, Seamus and Molly, as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Ellen Mooney-Howard.
Regina was the secretary to the Director of Personnel at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick, NY for many years and later was very active with the Pastoral Care Department at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick. She was a member of St. Stephen's Church in Warwick where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ladies Sodality. Regina also volunteered in the Rectory at Holy Rosary Church in Greenwood Lake, NY as well as for Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 10th from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Friday at St. Stephen's RC Church, Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
