Maria Holzhauer of Warwick, NY, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2023 at St. Anthony Hospital. She was 80 years old.
Born in Italy on August 17, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Concetta (nee Curico) Trovato. She immigrated to the United States with her parents in 1954.
Maria went back to school in her 40s to become a hairdresser, working in Queens after she earned her certification.
Maria is survived by her daughters Donna Vitale and her former husband Nick of Warwick, NY and Denise Jacklitsch and her husband Anthony of Chester, NY; son Robert Holzhauer and his wife Donna of Florida, NY; seven grandchildren: Samantha and her husband Frank, Nicole and her husband Tom, Rebecca, Dylan, Amanda, Nicholas, and Brooke; great-granddaughter Kennedy and two brothers Joseph Trovato and his wife Jeanette of Portland, OR, and Anthony Trovato and his wife Lisa of Warwick, NY. She was predeceased by her husband George W. Holzhauer.
