of Warwick, passed away on April 2, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Community Hospital. He was 65 years old.
Born on February 23, 1945 in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Armando De Bernardo and Dorothy Korfhage De Bernardo.
He was married for more than 40 years to Ann (Grogan) De Bernardo.
A Navy veteran of the Viet Nam War, Michael was a member of American Legion
Post #214, Warwick. He was an Alarm Technician with Protection One, Waterbury, CT. He was a member of Warwick Fire Dept., Excelsior Company, a member of the Warwick Fire Police, an honorary and lifetime member of the Orange County Fire Police and a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
Michael’s family would like to extend their sincere thanks to St. Anthony’s Community Hospital and Schervier Pavilion for all their kindness during his illness.
He is survived by his wife, Ann De Bernardo; his sons: Michael A. De Bernardo and Alan T. De Bernardo and his wife Melissa; his daughters: Michelle L. Stach and Angela H. Goodsier and her husband Jerome; his grandchildren: Brianna Stach, Brandon Stach and Alan T. De Bernardo, Jr.; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two aunts: Joan Korfhage and Helen Castignola, an uncle, Edward Korfhage, and a grandson, Christopher Michael De Bernardo.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 6, 2010, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at St. Stephens RC Church. Interment will follow in Orange County Veterans Cemetery, Goshen.
