
Bonni Masi Oswald, of Warwick, passed away on June 14, 2016 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 71 years old
Born on May 18, 1945 in Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Jeanette (Fragasso) Masi
Bonni was an Agent with State Farm Insurance Companies in Warwick, NY and a fixture in the community. As a great believer in helping others she touched so many lives through her support and work with local organizations including Winslow Therapeutic Riding Center, St. Anthony Community Hospital, the Orange County Land Trust, our local food pantry as one of the “Orchard 5” and Warwick’s Farm Aid program to name a few.
She was a member of the Warwick Valley Country Club, the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and past Rotarian being one of the first women accepted by that organization. Bonni was a dedicated and active member of Bon Secours Warwick Health Foundation. A member of Grace Community Church in Warwick, she was formerly a member of Warwick United Methodist Church and the Warwick Assembly of God. As an active member of her church, she taught Sunday school and did missionary work in several third world countries throughout Central and South America.
She is survived by her four children: John Oswald and his wife Robin of Asheville, NC, Tucker Oswald and his wife Shauna of Warwick, Kirsten Oswald of Warwick, and Kurt Oswald and his wife Lindsay of Toms River, NJ; her siblings: Sandy Gigliotti and her husband Joseph of Winter Park, FL, twin sister Susan Masi of West Orange, NJ, Carol Masi of Chatham, NJ and Tom Masi and his wife Luby of Basking Ridge, NJ. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Carson, Harrison, Riley, Rowan, Reagan, Ashley and Austin. She was predeceased by a sister, Roberta Masi.
Visitation will be on Sunday, June 19th, from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Monday at the Warwick United Methodist Church, 135 Forester Ave., Warwick. Private interment will be on Tuesday at Holy Cross Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ.
