Ralph J. Battista, of Venice Florida and formerly of Greenwood Lake, NY, passed away at Orange Regional Medical Center Middletown, NY on March 15, 2012. He was 85 years old.
Born on April 7, 1926 in Staten Island New York, he was the son of the late James and Lena Luccione Battista. He was married for 60 years to Catherine (Mollica) Battista Ralph was predeceased by his daughter Karen Ann Battista.
Ralph was a Real Estate Investor and Navy Veteran during WWII serving as a Pharmacist’s Mate in both the Atlantic and Pacific and was a member of the VFW Post 248 in Staten Island, NY. Ralph also was a member of the businessman’s club of Staten Island and a parishioner of Holy Rosary RC Church in Greenwood Lake, NY
He is survived by his wife, Catherine at home his brother Louis Battista of Cape Coral Florida and sister Grace Cascio of Staten Island as well as many nieces and nephews .
Visitation will be on Monday, March 19th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday at Holy Rosary RC Church Greenwood Lake, NY, followed by private cremation.
