Mary Gee Kennedy

Mary Gee Willcox Kennedy, 83, of Warwick, NY, loving mother of five, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of six, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at her home on Colonial Avenue.

 

Mary Gee was the daughter of the late John and Mary Lee Willcox, and the wife of the late Robert M. Kennedy of Warwick.

 

Mrs. Kennedy was born on October 31, 1924 in the House in the Horseshoe on the Deep River in North Carolina.  She graduated from Flora MacDonald College in North Carolina with a BA in Education.  She taught school in North Carolina until she married Robert M. Kennedy and moved to New Jersey, and then Warwick, New York.

 

She is survived by her children, Robert Michael Kennedy and his wife Deborah of Warwick, NY, Nancilee Kennedy of Vermont, Melinda Kennedy Taylor and her husband Tim of Ridgewood, NJ,. and Richard Willcox Kennedy and his wife Kristin of New Jersey.    She was predeceased by her daughter, Leslie Catherine Kennedy in 1964.

 

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Caleb Kennedy and his wife Monica of Indian Harbor Bearch, FL, Robert Michael Kennedy III and Meaghan Mc Govern of Warwick, NY, Erin Kennedy Swinney and her husband Brian of Philadelphia, PA, Meaghan Kennedy Philip and her husband Neil of Danby, VT, Caralee Kathleen Kennedy of Vermont, Lesley Kamarad and Sasha Kamarad; her great-grandchildren:  Carlos, Olivia, Robert M. IV, James Finn, Ian and Ronan Patrick.  She is also survived by her sisters, Cameron Read, Claire Torcassi and Catherine Hume.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be on Friday, August 22nd, from 6:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.  Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.

 

Memorial donations may be sent to St. Anthony’s Hospital, 15 Maple Avenue Warwick, NY 10990.
