Morton E. Quackenbush, a longtime resident of Warwick, passed away on August 4, 2017 at Schervier Pavilion. He was 95 years old.
Born on September 2, 1921 in Edenville, NY, he was the son of the late Clifford and Olive (House) Quackenbush.
He was married to Muriel (Wetzel) Quackenbush.
Morton was retired as an Electrician with Orange County Correctional Facility in Warwick. He was an exempt member of the Excelsior Fire Department, Warwick, a former member of the Warwick Grange, and a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a member of Warwick United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel of Warwick; a son, Allen Quackenbush and his wife Marjorie of Dawsonville, GA; a daughter, Debra Shay and her husband Stephen of Sayre, PA; his grandsons: Frederick Van Strander III and Bryan Quackenbush; great-grandson Dillon Quackenbush; a sister-in-law Florence Noger of Warwick; a brother-in-law Warren Wetzel of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Wallace Quackenbush and his wife Marion.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 8th, from 3:00-6:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at Warwick United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery.
