Born on May 24, 1928 in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was the son of the late Thomas J. Bonita, Sr. and Mary Alusick.
He was married to Lydia Doelling Bonita.
An Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, he was a member of the American Legion Post #214, Warwick. He was an Auto Worker with Ford Motor Company, Mahwah, NJ. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lydia Bonita of Warwick; three sons: Thomas Bonita III of Chester, Richard Paul Bonita of New Windsor, and William Otto Bonita of Burlingham; a daughter, Lydia Van Duynhoven of Florida, NY; three brothers: James Bonita of PA, Angelo Bonita of MI, Ronald Bonita of SC; a sister, Hope Coolbaugh of PA; ten grandchildren: Tracey, William, Joseph, Richard, Alexa, Desarae, Casey, Aaron, Kristen, and Thomas; four great-grandchildren: William, Joseph, Briana and Emma.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 5th from 2-4 pm & 7:30-9:30 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday at St. Stephens RC Church. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
