a resident of Boulder, Colorado since 1993, and formerly of Warwick, NY, passed away on July 14, 2010 in Boulder. He was 42 years old.
Born on February 17, 1968 in Hackensack, NJ, he was the son of Susan (Watterworth) Van Wart and the late Dr. Joseph W. Adams.
Joseph was a former Eagle Scout of Warwick Boy Scout Troop 45 and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture from Pratt Institute in 1992. He was a Colorado registered architect and the owner of Joseph Adams Architects, a full-service boutique architecture firm in Boulder.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Van Wart, of West Milford, NJ; a sister, Sharon M. Dispoto and her husband Mike of Ringwood, NJ; brothers: Timothy E. Adams of Warwick, NY and Warren L. Adams of PA; niece Sydney Dispoto; nephew Ethan Dispoto; his step-mother, Wendy Adams of Warwick, NY; and his fiancé, Beth Garvin of Boulder, whom he planned to marry in October.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 20th, from 7:00-9:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 22nd, at St. Elizabeth’s Memorial Chapel, 38 Chapel Turn, Tuxedo, NY 10987, followed by interment in Warwick Cemetery. A memorial service was held in Boulder on July 17th. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations by made in his name to a charity of choice.
