of Warwick (formerly of Queens), passed away on
December 12, 2010 at Hudson Valley Hospital Center, Cortlandt Manor, NY.
He was 98 years old.
Born on January 15, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Domenica (Ferrara) Barravecchia.
He was married to the late Theresa (Greco) Barravecchia (2000).
One of eight children, Joseph served with the Army during World War II, along with his three brothers who also served during World War II. He was a Foreman/Typesetter with the International Typographical Union in New York City. An accomplished violinist, he performed during his years in the military, as well as in local and church programs.
Preceded in death by a son, Robert in 1995, he is survived by a grandson, Jonathan Barravecchia and his wife, Christine, of Warwick; a granddaughter, Monica Daly and her husband, Brendan, of Warwick; great-grandchildren: Quinn and Amelia Barravecchia, Luke and Fiona Daly.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 17th, from 10:00 am –11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
