Lydia Rivera, of Warwick, passed away on March 19, 2017 at her home. She was 88 years old.
Born on June 1, 1928 in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Juan and Maria (Alamo) Concepcion.
Lydia was married for 65 years to Evaristo Rivera.
Before retiring, Lydia was an Early Childhood Teacher with Leake & Watts in New York City.
She was a well-respected educator, and very family orientated; a devoted, wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband, Evaristo Rivera of Warwick; her son, Elvin Rivera of Warwick; her daughter, Magali Sepulveda and her husband Anthony of Warwick; her grandchildren: Lydia Rivera-Johnson of Huntington Station, LI, Michael C. Rivera of New York City,
Noel A. Sepulveda of Warwick, and Ariana Sepulveda of Philadelphia, PA; and a sister, Alicia Franqui of Bronx, NY.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 23rd, from 2-4 & 7-8 pm followed by a funeral service at 8:00 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. A private burial service will take place Friday at Warwick Cemetery.
