of Warwick (formerly of the Bronx), passed away on August 6, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern. She was 95 years old.
Born on October 18, 1912 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late James and Sadie (Murry) Egan.
Before retiring, Helen was a Supervisor in the Traffic Division of New York Telephone Company, NYC, for 48 years. She was a member of St. Stephen’s RC Church, Warwick, a summer parishioner for more than 40 years at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes, and was a member of the Warwick Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Valenson, of Highland Lakes, NJ; nieces: Kathleen Sharpe of Montgomery and Sally Meyer and her husband Bill of Warwick; great-nephews: William Sharpe and his wife Colleen of Montgomery, Kevin Sharpe and his wife Valerie of Middletown, Christopher Sharpe and his wife Michele of Montgomery, and James Meyer of Warwick and his fiancé Christan; a great-niece, Jennifer Christian and her husband David of Warwick; great-great nieces & nephew: Danielle, Ryan and Emily. She was predeceased by a sister, Catherine M. Egan, and brothers Edmond Egan, John Egan and James Egan.
Visitation will be on Thursday,, August 7th, and Friday, August 8th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave, Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Saturday at St. Stephen’s RC Church, Warwick. Interment will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery.
