Charles (Lenny) Schroeder, 72, of Goshen, NY, passed away on September 27, 2012.  He was born on Nov. 4, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY to Jean (nee Lasiw) and Fredrick Schroeder

Mr. Schroeder was employed as a truck driver for 30 years with the Caruso Meat and Seafood Company in Goshen, NY.

For 25 years Mr. Schroeder was the NY State Chairman of Drug Free Power lifting, the Master Champion Power lifter, a member of the Executive Committee and a member of the Referee’s Committee for Power lifting.

He was also a founding member of the Power lifting Special Olympics in NY State, and was the original member of the Barbarian Power Team.

Mr. Schroeder will also be remembered as an avid pigeon breeder and flyer.

Mr. Schroeder was predeceased by his sister Margaret DeGroat of Wallkill, NY, his brother Fredrick Schroeder and Marie Borrillo, his companion of 30 years.

He is survived by his brothers Bernard Schroeder and his wife Sandy of Walden, NY, and Phillip Schroeder and his wife Elsie of Florida, and his sisters Frances Schroeder of Wallkill, NY, Claire Bastedo and her husband Bobby of Long Island, NY, and Lucille Reyes and her companion Joel Rodriguez of Walden, NY., as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors on Monday October 1, 2012 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with a funeral service at 7:30pm at Lazear, Smith and Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave. Warwick, NY 10990.

Final disposition will be private.
