
Joan C. (Schork) Rea, of Warwick, passed away on November 21, 2013 at St. Anthony Hospital, Warwick. She was 58 years old.
Born in Flushing, NY, she was the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Johnsen) Schork.
She was married to Michael Rea.
Joan was a Packaging Machine Operator with Novartis Pharmaceuticals in Suffern, NY, where she was an active member of the Novartis First Aid Squad and was also an instructor for the American Red Cross. She was a member of St. Stephen Church, Warwick, where she was a CCD teacher for several years. She was also a Girl Scout leader for Troop 404, Warwick for several years.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Rea of Warwick; her parents: Joseph and Irene Schork of Brandon, NY; her daughters: Natalie Dawson and her husband Brian of Deltona, FL and Valerie Rea and her fiancé Nicholas Messinger of Montgomery, NY. She is also survived by her siblings: Fran Buttner of Concord, NC, Claire Littlefield of Malone, NY, Andrew Schork of Warwick, George Schork of North Haven, CT, Robert Schork of Brighton, MI, and Paul Schork of Brandon, NY.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 23rd, from 6-8 pm and Sunday, November 24th, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Visitation will also be on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Bruso-Desnoyers Funeral Home, 568 E.Main St., Malone, NY. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday at St. Augustine's Church, North Bangor, NY followed by interment in Steven Cemetery, Brandon.
