
Joyce A. Bruner, of Greenwood Lake, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning August 18, 2013 at St. Anthony Community Hospital. She was 70 years old.
Born on May 3, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Martin A. and Irene (Mossina) Buccolo.
She was married to her devoted husband, Kenneth Bruner.
Joyce was the owner of the former Painted Rose Cafe in Sugar Loaf. An accomplished and acclaimed artist and writer, she was the owner of the Wind Horse Gallery in Greenwood Lake. She was a member of the Art League and her artwork was recently displayed in Ringwood with other local artists. An avid gardener, she enjoyed gardening at home and at the Warwick Reformed Church and the Doc Frey Center. She was a member of the Warwick Reformed Church and the Warwick Chorale. Joyce also loved reading and enjoyed being a member of the Greenwood Lake library book club.
She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Kenneth Bruner of Greenwood Lake; her son, Robert Wagner of Greenwood Lake; her daughter, Jayne Wagner of Kingston; a brother, Martin Buccolo of CT; a step-daughter, Jennifer Bruner; step-sons, Douglas Bruner of NJ, and Mark Bruner of PA; and grandchildren, Gillian, Brittany, Alyssa, Douglas, Michael, Catherine and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Coccioli.
Joyce was a unique and beautiful person who saw the world filled with color, love, and wonder. Her sense of humor, kindness, and intensity will be remembered and missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of her life service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 3:00 pm at the Warwick Reformed Church – Reception to follow, all are welcome.
