of Warwick (formerly of Woodside, Queens), died on March 27, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern. She was 72 years old.
Born on May 6, 1935 in Manhattan, she was the daughter of William Powers and Nora O’Sullivan Powers.
Marie was a Telephone Receptionist with Astoria Federal Bank, Woodside, Queens. She was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick; a member of the Greenwood Lake Seniors and the Stone House Seniors.
She is survived by her companion, Richard Lane of Warwick; a son, Michael Stemmer of Woodside, Queens; two daughters: Susan Huetter and her husband Robert of Hunter, NY and Patricia McKane and her husband Charles of Warwick; five grandchildren: Daniel, Eileen, Bonnie, Robby and Adam; two brothers: William Powers of Arizona and Timothy Powers of Port Washington.
A family statement read: “Marie loved each of her family for their individual gifts, but was happiest when they could all be together around her. She loved both the vibrancy of the old neighborhood in her family’s early life and more recently the natural beauty of Warwick.”
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 30, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Monday at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick. Interment will follow in Warwick Cemetery.
