
Jorge L. Cole, a resident of Florida, NY, (formerly of the Bronx, NY) passed away on April 23, 2018 at home after a long illness. He was 68 years old.
Born in Colón, Panama, March 7, 1950 to parents Herbert Cole and Augustina Perez.
Jorge joined the US Army and proudly served for 20 years. He earned the rank of Sergeant and was always proud to be a member of the armed forces. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army, Jorge worked as chef at Fordham University.
Jorge was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather; he loved his family. He was passionate about the NY Yankees. He also enjoyed gardening.
Jorge is survived by his wife, Ramonita (Rolon) Cole at home; his seven children: Jorge Cole, Jr., of NYC, Carrie Cole and her husband Wander of the Bronx, NY, Debora Marrero of Pompano Beach, FL, Yesenia Martin Gonzalez and husband Jose of Florida, NY, Catalina Morales of Liberty, NY, Erika Morales of Bronx, NY and Giovanna Ramirez and her husband Daniel of Liberty, NY; 14 grandchildren: Alexa, Max, Tiffany, Marquis, Anthony, Antegra, Makayla, Jaden, Jose, Helena, Efrain, Daniel, Allegra, and Tianna; and a brother, Eric Cole Perez.
He was predeceased by three brothers: Joaquin Santa Maria Perez, Ricardo Perez and Mario Perez.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen RC Church, 75 Sanfordville Road, Warwick. Cremation will be private. Burial with military honors will be on Tuesday, May 1 at 11:30 a.m. at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.
