
Hugo J. Masslich, of Warwick (formerly of Monroe and Long Island) passed away at home on July 29, 2012. He was 64 years old.
Born on September 15, 1947 in Eisenach, Germany, he was the son of Elwira Kalisch and the late Egon Masslich.
He was married for 44 years to Elisa (Lisa) M. Rizzo Masslich.
Mr. Masslich served with the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a retired Vice President of Promotion for the Daily News, New York City. Later in his retirement, he also worked and was top Sales Manager for the WWE, and also worked in sales for BMW.
He is survived by his wife, Elisa Masslich of Warwick; two sisters: Ursala Buttafuoco and Debra Ferguson, both of Long Island; many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Dolores Hutchinson and his mother-in-law, Antonette Rizzo and father-in-law, John Rizzo.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 1st, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick, NY. Funeral service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a committal service at 1:00 pm at Flushing Cemetery163-6 46th Ave Flushing, New York 11358.
