Patrick A. Kelly, of Warwick, went home to our Lord on May 10, 2009, surrounded by his loving family, to join his beloved wife of 63 years, Catherine and his son James. He was 84 years old.
Born on May 28, 1924 in Dublin, Ireland, he was the son of the late James Joseph Kelly and Esther Hackett Kelly.
An Army veteran of World War II, Sgt. Kelly was a Parachutist/Infantryman with the 517th Infantry Regiment. He was a retired Machinist with Schraeders, Brooklyn. He was a member of St. Stephen’s RC Church, Warwick.
He is survived by his children: Karen Raymond and her husband Joe, Brian Kelly and his wife Debra, Patricia Roppolo, Mariann Sicina and her husband Herman, and Nancy Pennings and her husband Richard, all of Warwick; 11 grandchildren: Dawn, Heather, Michael, Chasity, Maria, Brieanna, Jesse, Ricky, Kevin, Colleen and Cailin;
9 great-grandchildren; Andrew, Shylar, Gillian, Dylan, MacKenzie, Angelina, Ashlyn, Madison and Mia
A family statement reads: “We are eternally grateful for Dad’s life and love and the strong faith he instilled in us. His abundant sense of humor will live on through the legacy of his family. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand.”
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 13th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Stephen’s RC Church. Private burial.
