Born on September 7, 1929 in Clifton, New Jersey, he was the son of Howard Mc Neil and Sadie Flanagan Mc Neil.
He was married to Merle (Mc Alevey) Mc Neil.
Mr. Mc Neil served with the United States Marine Corp during World War II. He was an Inventor and President of Venture Associates, where he designed and manufactured industrial equipment in Paterson, New Jersey. He holds patents for his inventions. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick.
A family statement: “He was a devoted family man; he always went out of his way to help others. He resided in Paterson, NJ for most of his life and spent the last ten years in Warwick, NY, which he loved and where he used to hunt when he was younger.”
He is survived by his wife, Merle, of Warwick; a son, Roy C. Mc Neil, Jr. and his wife Patricia M. of Warwick, NY; a granddaughter, Kelly E. Mc Neil and grandson, Matthew S. Mc Neil, both of Warwick. He was predeceased by a brother, Howard and two sisters, Evelyn Duffy and Mabel Wagner.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 12, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY 10990. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am on Thursday at St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick. Private cremation.
