
Magdalene D. VanDuynhoven of Warwick, NY passed away on December 21, 2020 at Schervier Pavilion after a brief illness. She was 89 years old.
Born in New York, NY, she was the daughter of Michael and Martha (Joanos) Demetroules.
She was predeceased by Engel VanDuynhoven and Robert VanRiper.
Prior to retirement, Maggie was a bank teller with Key Bank in Warwick. She was a past president and an active member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of VFW post #4662 in Warwick.
Maggie was a loving mother and doting grandmother and great-grandmother. She always enjoyed spending time with her grand- and great-grandchildren. Maggie loved to bake and cook for her family, she was an avid reader and loved to sew for her family and friends.
A family statement reads, “We would like to thank the staff at Schervier Pavilion for the wonderful, loving care they gave to Maggie.”
Maggie is survived by her daughter, Martha (nee VanRiper) Tamburo and her significant other Edward of Monroe; granddaughters Melissa Henlon of Middletown, NY and Jennifer Tamburo of Monroe, NY; great grandchildren: Destiny, Donavon, and Myron; also survived by sisters-in-law, Anne Marie Demetroules of Sussex, NJ and Corry Van Duynhoven of Warwick, NY; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by three brothers: Demitrius, Nicholas, and Alexander Demetroules.
Private arrangements have been made due to the COVID pandemic.
