Ethel Freund English Watts, of Middletown, passed away on December 22, 2011 at Valley View Nursing Home, Goshen. She was 86 years old.
Born on February 27, 1925 in North Bergen, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mabel (Shea) Freund.
She was the beloved wife of Joseph Watts.
Ethel graduated from Jersey City Medical Center in 1947 as a Registered Nurse. She worked in St. Anthony’s Community Hospital, Warwick, NY, Chilton Hospital, Pompton Plains, NJ and for private practice physicians.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Joseph Watts, of Goshen; her son, Thomas English and his wife Kim of Middletown, NY; her daughter, Barbara Jean McManus of Middletown, NY; her daughter, Sharon Rudy and her husband Michael of Cumming, GA; her son, Kevin English and his wife Domenica of Lodi, NJ; and her daughter, Debby Burris and her husband Howard of Goshen, NY. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond English, her son Scott English, and a step-son Thomas Watts.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Avenue, Warwick. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Thursday at St. Joseph’s RC Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, followed by interment in St..Joseph’s Cemetery.
